SUMMARY

I am a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (MIEK). With over 10 years of extensive experience in the field, I possess knowledge in irrigation, drainage, and soil and water management. My expertise lies in conducting feasibility studies, detailed design, and implementing gravity and pressurized irrigation systems for various irrigation projects.

I excel in project planning and identification, as well as in the preparation of irrigation master plans, feasibility studies, detailed designs, tender documents, and construction supervision. I am also skilled in maintaining irrigation infrastructure. One of my notable strengths was my ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams for successful project execution effectively.

I have gained a lot of experience in lecturing and handling students from Egerton University, Laikipia University, and the University of Kabianga where I have been a part-time lecturer.

KEY PROJECTS
  1. 2021-2026: The Catchment to Tap (C2T) is a program under WWF-Kenya, World Waternet (WWn) and Vitens-Evides International (VEI). It seeks to Enhance the resilience and sustainability of the WASH sector considering climatic and socioeconomic trends through increased synergies between the WASH and WRM sectors
  2. 2019-2022: OKP- Water in a Nexus Agriculture project aiming at the following outcome and outputs; Outcome: EGU and TENP perform their core tasks, embedded in their environment and labour market. Outputs: Courses in agriculture are strengthened by including climate-smart and water-smart topics; trainers, teachers, extension officers, and policymakers have the knowledge and skills to disseminate and apply gender-sensitive water-smart and climate-smart best practices and innovative technologies; and collaboration and linkages btw training institutes, industry, and government strengthened
  3. 2020-2022: KCSAP – Water Harvesting in Baringo. The Centre has implemented, in Baringo county, the project ‘Validating Climate Smart Water Harvesting Technologies to Increase Food and Nutrition Security in Semi-Arid Kenya’. The focus of the project was to increase the agricultural productivity and resilience of farmers in Machakos, Baringo, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta Counties by;
    i. Validating and up-scaling climate-smart water harvesting TIMPS
    ii. Strengthening innovation and knowledge exchange systems to increase access to information on “best-fit” water harvesting TIMPS
RESEARCH INTERESTS

Optimizing irrigation water usage, soil and water management, the water-food nexus, the drainage-environment nexus, and the impacts of climate change on soil health and irrigation water.
