- Overseeing all the activities of the Department, Teaching, Examinations and overall running of the Department.

Responsibilities included
- In charge of receiving draft examinations and marked scripts
- Internal moderation of examination drafts,
- Submitting draft examinations and marked scripts to external examiners for external moderation
- Submitting moderated examinations to the University Examinations Officer.
