SUMMARY

Kioko Kivandi is an award-winning Journalist, Creative Writer and Media Trainer with over 10 years’ experience in the media industry. He joined º£½ÇÆƽâ°æin 2013 and is currently the Head of the Electronic Media Section. He has been instrumental in transforming the radio to its current modern status. His areas of interest include: Democracy and Governance/Human Rights, Health and Climate Change Communication, Media Viability/Sustainability and Conflict Sensitive Journalism (CSJ). He is also a nature, landscape and wildlife photographer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Literature and Sociology) from º£½ÇÆƽâ°æand a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) from Kenyatta University where is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Policy and Management.

  • 2016: Won the Photography Award in the African Climate Change and Enviribmental Reporting Awards (ACCER) by the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA).

  • 2012: Won the radio Good Governance Category in the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA) of the Media Council of Kenya.
