In a gesture of good will for the dissemination of Knowledge, 海角破解版Library Department through the office of the Vice-Chancellor has donated 686 volumes of books to the Nakuru County Assembly to enrich its special library collection.
The donation process commenced in October, 2023 after a formal request by the Clerk of the County Assembly Ms Jane Waweru who had noted in the request letter that the County Assembly Library was soliciting for book donations to meet the growing needs of its readers.
鈥淭he Assembly is now in the process of expanding its library to meet the eminent intellectual growth of its patrons鈥欌 said the Assembly Clerk in part in her donation request letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor Prof.Isaac Kibwage, adding that the special library鈥檚 users had stretched from the initial target including Members of the County Assembly and staff, to students on industrial attachment and researchers at the County Assembly.
Mr.Benjamin Butuk the In-Charge of Technical Services Division of the University Library that coordinates book donation procedures said, the library donates books and also receives donations. 鈥淭he library has a book donation guideline that stipulates rules for receiving and giving out books鈥漢e said.
In the recent past, the Library has received book donations from various organizations and individuals including the Rattansi Educational Trust,The United Nations Educational Scientific and Children鈥檚鈥 Organization(UNESCO),The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis(KIPPRA),The Office of the Controller of Budget, The Faculty of Education and Community Development Studies(FEDCOS) and the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Research and Extension.
Among the individuals who have donated books to the University Library recently, include Mr.James Wakibia, an Alumni of 海角破解版and environmental activist, who vigorously campaigned against plastic bags menace in Kenya. The book he donated titled: Beyond Strawmen: Plastic Pollution and Networked Cultures of Care is an environmental justice and social change advocacy master piece authored by Pezzullo Phaedra of the University of California.
Another donor Mr.Barnabas Rotich is a senior technologists based at the Faculty of Environment and Resource Management.The book authored by Soon-Young a women鈥檚 human rights advocate is titled; Citizen of the World, is a collection of essays on the author鈥檚 personal experiences on violence against women and the desire for gender equality in the world.
