Egerton University, located in Njoro, has taken a significant step in boosting research capabilities in crop molecular biology and biotechnology.

The tenth edition of farmer鈥檚 clinic which is organized by the Nation Media Group 鈥楽eeds of Gold Magazine鈥檞as held at the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization(KALRO) Mwea in Kirinyaga County. Agronomical methods, farm mechanization, rice production, and horticulture were the main topics of the expo, which was attended by more than 2000 farmers and centered on the day's theme that was; Adopting effective technologies to improve agricultural production.

This is to invite all staff and students to participate in the exercise and help in conserving our environment.

Tegemeo Institute, an affiliate of Egerton University, led a group of farmers and agricultural enthusiasts on an extraordinary farm tour across Kenya.

The tour, which started from June 22nd to June 24th, organized in collaboration with the Kenya Agricultural Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and Agribench, aimed to promote knowledge sharing, empower farmers with the latest agricultural techniques, and provide insights into government programs.

Egerton University, through the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KCSAP) a Government of Kenya project jointly supported by the World Bank has been actively involved in supporting farmers through various training and extension services.

KCSAP has been implemented over a five-year period (2017-2022) under the framework of the Agriculture Sector Development Strategy (ASDS) (2010-2020) and the National Climate Change Response Strategy (NCCRS, 2010).
