  • The grant-winning project by Dr. Miriam K. Charimbu, titled "Exploring the potential of Togotia, a forgotten African leafy vegetable for nutritional security and climate adaptation in Kenya," is a promising initiative that aims to address the pressing issues of nutritional security and climate adaptation in Kenya. The project is funded by Innovate UK KTN Award 2022, with a total grant of 拢32,319.57, and is set to run for six months.

  • The small African leafy vegetable Togotia has been discovered to be a drought-tolerant and disease-resistant crop, according to research carried out by Dr. Miriam Karwitha Charimbu and Dr. Charles Kihia of the 海角破解版Department of Crops Horticulture and Soils and Department of Biological Sciences, respectively. The project, called "Exploring the potential of Togotia a forgotten African leafy vegetable for nutritional security and climate adaptation in Kenya," aimed to understand the growth habit of Togotia and develop appropriate cultivation systems while also determining the nutritional qualities of derived food products.

  • Professor Yash Mahida from the University of Nottingham recently paid a courtesy call to Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Bernard Aduda at Egerton University's Main Campus on 5th June 2023. This visit is part of the ongoing collaboration between the United Kingdom and Kenyan institutions through the Kenya UK Health Alliance (KUKHA), which focuses on health matters. 海角破解版and the University of Nottingham are among the key partners in this alliance.
