Appointments by the Vice Chancellor
This is to inform all staff members that the Vice Chancellor has recently made several appointments to various positions within the University. These appointments reflect the University's commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, research, and extension.
On 6 April, Dr Symon Kibet Kiprop was appointed as the Chairman of the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. His extensive experience and knowledge in Economics will help to elevate the Department to new heights.
On 31 March, Prof. Micah Chepchieng was appointed Director of the Board of Undergraduate Studies and Field Attachment Programmes. Prof. Chepchieng brings a wealth of experience in academia, having served as Chairman of Department and Dean of Faculty.
Dr Dickson Makanji was appointed as the Director of the Dryland Research Training and Ecotourism Centre on 22 March. His expertise in Appropriate Technology and Sciences for Rural Development and Natural Resources Management will be valuable to the Centre.
On 7 March, Dr Samuel Nyamwea was appointed as the Chairman of the Department of Pathology at the Faculty of Health Sciences. We are honoured to have such a highly experienced medical professional and academician lead the Department.
Dr Samson Obure was appointed as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences on 20 January. Dr Obure is a highly respected medical professional and academician.
Finally, Dr Kennedy Gogo and Dr David Njeru were appointed as Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and acting Chairman of the Department of Clinical Medicine, respectively, at the Faculty of Health Sciences on 13 January. Their expertise and experience will undoubtedly enhance the academic and research activities of the Departments.
