This is an outstanding achievement showcasing the institution's unique position as a trailblazer in training and knowledge management.
鈥淭he University interpreted effectively this year鈥檚 theme; 'Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,鈥欌�� stated the Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage shortly after the event, which was graced by Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture Mithika Linturi. The CS congratulated the Vice Chancellor Prof. Kibwage for leading the University to prosperity and stability. CS Linturi toured the Egerton stand and was wowed by the innovations the University showcased in this year鈥檚 agricultural exposition.

In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Kibwage expressed gratitude for the teamwork exhibited by the Egerton team. He thanked the CS Agriculture Mithika Linturi for visiting the University stand and appreciating the University鈥檚 unique innovations and research. The CS was accompanied by Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones (representing Governor Susan Kihika), Nakuru County for Agriculture Leonard Bor, Nakuru ASK branch Chairman Dr. Thomas Migwi, and Nakuru County Secretary Samwel Mwaura, among other top dignitaries.
鈥淚 am happy for the teamwork we have shown and this win is for all of us. These trophies are a testament to the hard work and focus you have shown,鈥� he spoke to the staff present at the University stand.
Prof. Kibwage acclaimed the unwavering relationship with the University over the years, saying the University has consistently showcased over the years except for the year the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country. He thanked the Egerton show committee led by Dr. Musa Njue, who steered the team from June 3 to the end of the 7-day exhibition.
Present for the win were Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics Research and Extension (AR&E) Prof. Bernard Aduda, Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration Finance and Planning (AFP) Prof. Richard Mulwa, Acting Director Research Prof. Nancy Mungai, and Director Marketing and Resource Mobilization Prof. Nzula Kitaka, among other leading dons from the University.
鈥淭he winning is a testament to our hard work and dedication. These shows and exhibitions are a stage to market ourselves, especially to the school-going children. This particular one provides a platform to showcase our innovations to the public,鈥� said 海角破解版Shows Committee Dr. Musa Njue.
鈥淭his is a good performance, I am happy with it,鈥� said Prof. Mungai. On her part, the Director Marketing and Resource Mobilization Prof. Nzula Kitaka took this as a moment to improve the visibility of the University. 鈥淟et us market the university at least to showcase the potential of this great university,鈥� she said.
Dr. Mecha Peter, a committee member of the University shows, observed that good planning and strategy led the University to win. 鈥淲e have won as we expected. We had planned to be number one 7 times. We shall check on the loopholes and improve on them. Our win is christened to discussing, strategizing on the areas themed. We wanted to be number one in the best University stand but we were number two. We wanted to be number one in agro-processing, but we were number two. This clearly shows that we have room for improvement to be number one,鈥� he opined.
In the category of the best stand in Research and Development, there were six learning institutions in this category, among them Kenya Forest Research Institute (KEFRI), Kabarak University, Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST), Catholic University, and North Coast Medical Training College.
海角破解版Tatton Farm also won the Jersey Champion. Led by Mr. Gerald Otwabe Areba, the farm brought dairy cows to the ASK Show, winning the best udder of a cow. 鈥淭his cow with the best udder in this show was a calf in last year鈥檚 show,鈥� said an elated Areba.
In essence, jubilation and happiness greeted the University after the exhibition with a determination to do better in subsequent exhibitions.
This win comes on the heels of another recent win at the 4th Commission of the University Education Conference held in Nairobi, where the University scooped the second runner-up among over 70 universities that participated at the KICC event.
The Annual Nakuru ASK show has been a success, with the University showcasing its departments like the Medical department, which offered free medical screening, the ARC Hotel, the INCITIS food project, Nakuru Living Lab led by Egerton鈥檚 Prof. Bockline Bebe, Agro-Science Park, CESAAM project-sponsored innovations, Egerton COELIB project-sponsored innovations, TAGDev Project-sponsored innovations and research, the Alumni office, Egerton Gift Shop, Egerton Press, Egerton Knitting Unit, Egerton Dairy department selling the newly repackaged yogurt, the Nutrition department showcasing the cake made of cricket, among other revealing innovations.
