Nakuru, Kenya - In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the quality of education and institutional management, Mountain of the Moon University in Uganda embarked on a benchmarking mission to 海角破解版in Kenya. This educational exchange comes in the wake of the Ugandan government's takeover of Mountain of the Moon University, a private institution, last year. Seeking to leverage the rich experiences and practices of Egerton University, the delegation from Uganda embarked on a journey to foster academic collaboration and mutual growth.
The visiting team from Mountain of the Moon University was warmly received at 海角破解版by Prof. Benard Aduda, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs, representing the esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Kibwage. As the Ugandan and Kenyan representatives engaged in light-hearted introductions, Prof. Aduda gracefully ushered them into the Vice Chancellor Boardroom, setting the stage for a day of insightful discussions and explorations.
Led by their Registrar of Academic Affairs, Prof. Mwanarusi Saidi, the Ugandan delegation included Dr. Maurice Udoto, Deputy Registrar of Academic Affairs, and Gilbert Obwoyere, Director of Timetabling. The Egerton team provided a comprehensive briefing on the university's organizational structure, charter, statutes, and policies. The discussions extended to encompass the management processes at Egerton University, spanning academic affairs, planning, development, and human capital management. Of particular interest was Egerton's innovative approach to timetabling and the efficient allocation of lecture theaters, optimizing the use of available resources to ensure a seamless academic experience.
After the enlightening discussions, the Mountain of the Moon University team embarked on a guided tour of Egerton University's faculties, directorates, and departments. They visited the Faculty of Agriculture, a prominent center of excellence, and explored the Directorate of Research and Extension, led by Prof. Nancy Mungai, which plays a pivotal role in advancing research and community outreach. Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about the Directorate of International Linkages, fostering global academic connections and collaborations.
This benchmarking mission represents a significant step toward the internationalization of both institutions and underscores the commitment to continuous improvement in higher education. As Mountain of the Moon University and 海角破解版share knowledge and experiences, it is anticipated that this collaboration will yield lasting benefits for the academic communities in both countries and contribute to the advancement of higher education standards across the region.
