  • On the 28th of May each year, people worldwide gather to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day. The day is dedicated to combating period stigma, ensuring access to menstrual products, and promoting awareness and education about menstruation.It is an opportunity to challenge the prevailing beliefs and taboos surrounding periods that persist in our society.

  • In the heart of the North Rift region, a transformative event was taking place at the Parachichi Centre in Uasin Gishu County. The renowned º£½ÇÆƽâ°ædons, Professor Paul Kimurto and Dr. Caroline Mutua, stood before a gathering of eager residents, urging them to embrace new farming opportunities to combat the challenges posed by climate change and soil degeneration.

  • The visit by the Arava International Center for Agricultural Training (AICAT) to º£½ÇÆƽâ°æMain Campus in Njoro was a momentous occasion for both students and the university administration. AICAT, a non-governmental organization based in Sapir, Israel, has been providing agricultural training to students from academic institutions in over 13 countries since its establishment in 1994, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture.

  • Professor Yash Mahida from the University of Nottingham recently paid a courtesy call to Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Bernard Aduda at Egerton University's Main Campus on 5th June 2023. This visit is part of the ongoing collaboration between the United Kingdom and Kenyan institutions through the Kenya UK Health Alliance (KUKHA), which focuses on health matters. º£½ÇÆƽâ°æand the University of Nottingham are among the key partners in this alliance.

  • The school Visits programme at º£½ÇÆƽâ°æcontinues to attract students across the country who come to benchmark and learn practicals from the Facilities available.The Programme began more than 10 years ago and has now gone a notch higher making the learners have a feel of their University of choice, especially with the new university’s funding model.

  • Supply and Delivery of Mattresses For Halls Department and Provision of fuel, oils lubricants and other related products using electronic fuel cards for a period of three years through the bidders’ retail distribution network (Framework Contract)

  • The International Studies Association’s Research Workshop Grants Committee is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for Research Workshops for 2024 Research Workshop Grants (up to $2,500) encourage ISA members to collaborate in exploring significant research problems in the field, with emphasis on interdisciplinary research questions and new and diverse perspectives and approaches. 

  • In a move to strengthen its commitment to research excellence and innovation, º£½ÇÆƽâ°æhas appointed Dr. Winfred Mueni Mulwa as the Intellectual Property Officer (IPO), effective from May 18th, 2023. This significant appointment showcases the university's dedication to protecting and utilizing intellectual property rights while fostering a culture of innovation among its staff and students.

  • Egerton University, established in 1939, held a grand Alumni gathering at the United Kenya Club Friday evening. The event brought together former students from various graduating classes, with the oldest representation hailing from the class of 1969.The atmosphere was filled with excitement and nostalgia as the attendees drawn from all over the world reunited to celebrate their alma mater's rich history and the achievements of its graduates.

  • A post-doctoral fellowship is being offered in the University of Cape Town's Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D). Funding for this position is provided by Carnegie Developing Emerging Academic Leaders(DEAL) programme.

  • Egerton University, in collaboration with Bowie State University, recently held a meeting in the CMRT to introduce students to the º£½ÇÆƽâ°æexchange program. The purpose of the meeting was to provide an overview of the program and the various segments that the students would be participating in during their 8-week stay. The exchange program, which began in 2016, offers undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in a research program at Egerton University, specifically in the Faculty of Agriculture's Department of Crops, Horticulture, and Soils (CHS).

  • Egerton University, Faculty of Agriculture is offering 2 opportunities for short term (4 months) international credit mobility to PhD candidates in the field of Agribusiness Management/Agricultural Economics and Agronomy. The mobility is tenable for the 2023/2024 academic year from January-April, 2024.

  • º£½ÇÆƽâ°æparticipated in the 2nd Multisectoral Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) that was held from 23rd to 26th May 2023 at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi. The conference was organized by the National Commission on Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) in partnership with the National Research Fund (NRF), and Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA).

  • In a significant stride towards fostering international collaborations and bridging relations between Kenya and Indonesia, the Indonesian Ambassador to Kenya, Dr Mohamad Hery Saripudin, together with the Director of Global Connectivity at IPB University in Indonesia, Dr Eva Anggraini, paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of Egerton University, Prof. Isaac Kibwage, on June 22, 2023. The meeting, held at the Main Campus in Njoro, aimed to map out a way forward for future partnerships between IPB University and Egerton University.
