On Thursday 2 April 2020, Egerton University鈥檚 Chancellor who also serves as the Chairman of Devki Steel Mills Limited Dr. Narendra Raval, donated oxygen worth Ksh. 100 million to all government hospitals in Kenya. As our Chancellor, we recognize and appreciate his contributions to assist in fighting the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Following the presidential directive on the closure of learning institutions due to the unfolding development on Coronavirus (COVID-19), Senate its 510th special meeting held on Tuesday 17th March 2020 resolved to sus[end all academic activities and close the University with immediate effect until further notice.
