Egerton University's commitment to academic excellence was reaffirmed as its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Kibwage, and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics Research and Extension, Prof. Bernard Aduda, actively participated in the ACE II Project Completion Report Writeshop held at the Technical University of Mombasa.
The event, which brought together key stakeholders from Ministry of Education, State Department for Higher Education led by Director Higher Education Dariours Mogaka and ACE II Coordinator Paul Mungai among other ministry officials and various academic institutions, aimed to review the outcomes and achievements of the ACE II project in Eastern and Southern Africa. 海角破解版together with Moi University and Jaramongi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology through their respective centers of excellence the from Egerton, PTRE for Moi and INSEFOODS from JOOUST showcased their contributions to the initiative.
Among the participants representing 海角破解版were Prof. George Owuor, the centre leader, Deputy Center Leader Prof Samuel Mwonga, Finance Officer Charles Wanjohi, Accountants Gabriel Ndungu, Getrey Shijenge and Administrator Paul Kahenya. Their presence underscored Egerton's active involvement and leadership within the ACE II project.
The 3 centers from Kenya supported by the World Bank has strengthened the capacity of at post-graduate level for over 650 students, build collaborative research networks of over 40 partners, reached out to over 700 community participants with demand driven short courses, internationally accredited 6 post graduate programmes, equipped the universities with key research equipment and supported over 10 innovations in the past 5 years. The project has thus made significant strides in enhancing higher education and research capabilities in Kenya and the Africa region as a whole.
Prof. Kibwage emphasised Egerton University's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its role in advancing research and innovation in agriculture and agribusiness. He highlighted the importance of collaboration among academic institutions and stakeholders to address regional challenges and drive sustainable development.
The completion report writeshop provided a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and reflection on the achievements and lessons learned from the ACE II project.
